Academic

  • Math Is Money. Students receive “math bucks” for points earned on Kahn Academy, which they use to buy gift cards and treats at quarterly auctions. Please check our calendar for the meeting time.
  • Elementary Age Tutoring. UVU Tutors help students K-6th grade on school days to improve their literacy and quantitative skills. Tutoring is Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:00 PM. Space is limited.
  • Reading Club. Kids in grades K-8th come together to read in a group based on their grade level. Games are played and snacks are provided. Please check our calendar for the meeting time.
Art

Art

  • Beginning Art Class. Community volunteers lead classes and create the curriculum on art basics for both children and adults. Kids 5 and up are more than welcome to participate. Children under five must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian. Please check our calendar for the meeting time.
  • Craft Group. Participants find support and belonging as they create crafts together. Please check our calendar for the meeting time.
  • Quilting. Participants come together and create quilts that are given out to those in need. Lunch is provided for those who help. For those bringing children, they are not allowed in the quilting area. Childcare is done in a seperate room on a rotating basis between the parents who bring their kids. Health & Exercise

Health & Exercise

  • Ballet. Our dance class—as organized, promoted, and lead by local volunteers—promotes exercise, diversity, and mutual respect among residents. Geared towards kids 5-12. Space is limited, we do currently have a waitlist. Please check our calendar for the meeting time.
  • Zumba Fitness/Community Exercise. Led by a volunteer instructor, participants enjoy a workout through Latin-American inspired dance. Parents are more than welcome to bring their children. Please check our calendar for the meeting time.
  • Food Sense Nutrition and Cooking Class. Community members learn principles of nutritious and affordable food preparation. Kids are welcome to come if accompanied by a parent. Please check our calendar for the meeting time.
  • Children’s Playgroup. Local parents bring their children (ages 1-4) weekly for learning and play. Parents make friends, share ideas on parenting strategies, and experience a sense of community. Meanwhile, their children socialize in a stimulating environment and bond with their parents. Please check our calendar for the meeting time.
  • Ready to Learn Parenting Class. These workshops educate parents on healthy child development and provide children with opportunities for hands-on learning. Please check our calendar for the meeting time.
Music

Music

  • Music Lessons. Private music lessons for piano, violin, and guitar are available to local residents ages 5+ through volunteer teachers. Kids 5-10 must take 2 semesters of choir or show prior music knowledge.
  • Children’s Choir. Kids learn and study choral music concepts through singing and musical games. Please check our calendar for the meeting time.
  • Kindermusik. Kids learn and study music and movement through singing and musical games. A wide variety of classes are available for kids 18 months up to 6 years. Space is limited. Please check our calendar for the meeting time.
Summer Programs

Summer Programs

  • Summer Youth Learning Program. Academically based summer program provided by UVU during the summer for kids who have finished kindergarten up to kids in the 6th grade.
  • Healthy Me. Local kids gather for outdoor games, science actvities, cooking/nutrition classes, and health education four times a week during the summer.
  • Community Garden. Community members come together to plant and take care of a garden. Supplies and volunteers are generously supplied by the Provo Rotary Club. One time event to help plant. Members of the community are encouraged to stop by during the summer and care for the garden as well as take anything they would like.
