All Programs

Socialization

  • Children's Playgroup. Local parents bring their children (ages 1-4) weekly for learning and play. Parents make friends, share ideas on parenting strategies, and experience a sense of community. Meanwhile, their children socialize in a stimulating environment and bond with their parents. Please check our calendar for the meeting time. Ages 1-4.
  • Community Cafe. Develop friendships through a common cause, strengthening your community. Meet with others from the neighborhood to discuss ways to improve the community. Meets every second friday of the month at 6:00 PM. All adults are welcome, childcare provided for kids under the age of 9. 

Music

  • Intro to Music. Monday 6-7pm.
  • Kindermusik. Kids learn and study music and movement through singing and musical games. A wide variety of classes are available for kids 18 months up to 6 years. Space is limited. Please check our calendar for the meeting time. Ages 18 mo-6 years old. 
  • Children’s Choir. Kids learn and study choral music concepts through singing and musical games. Meets Monday at 5:15 PM. Ages 5-12.
  • Private Music Lessons. Private music lessons for piano, violin, and guitar are available to local residents ages 5+ through volunteer teachers. Kids 5-10 must take 2 semesters of choir or show prior music knowledge. Ages 5+. 

Exercise

  • Dance.  Our dance class—as organized, promoted, and lead by local volunteers—promotes exercise, diversity, and mutual respect among residents. Discpline, focus, consistency, and respect are required of all students. Geared towards kids 5 and up. CLASS FULL.
  • Community Exercise. Led by a volunteer instructor, participants enjoy a workout. Meets Monday-Friday at 9:00 AM. Parents are more than welcome to bring their children as long as they participate or are respectful and don't become a distraction. Does not meet in the Summer.
  • Zumba. Taught by a local community member participate in an upbeat Latin- style dance fitness class. Class is held Monday-Friday at 10 am.

Educational

  • Reading Club. Kids come together to read in a group based on their grade level. Games are played and snacks are provided. Meets Tuesdays at 6:30 PM. K-8th grade.
  • UVU Tutoring. UVU Tutors help students 1st-3rd grade on school days to improve their literacy and quantitative skills. Tutoring is Monday-Friday from 3:30-5:30 PM. Must meet at least two of the following: Academic Need, Financial Need, South Franklin Resident. Does NOT meet in the Summer.1st-3rd grade only.
  • Stem Club. Children meet every other Wednesday from 3:45-4:30 PM for various science, technology, engineering, and math activities. 3rd-8th grade. 
  • Homework Help. Homework help is a 1 on 1 tutoring program offered in person and online to help students (K-6) to receive help with any homework questions they many have. Students are tutored through volunteer teachers. Held Thursday nights with the first session from 6-6:50pm, and the second session from 7-7:50pm. K-6th grade.
  • Food Sense Nutrition and Cooking Class.  Community members learn principles of nutritious and affordable food preparation. Please check our calendar for the meeting time. Kids are welcome to participate if accompanied by a parent.
  • Language Exchange. Participate in a class where you can practice and learn specifically the Spanish and English languages. Class is held every  Wednesday 7-8pm.
  • Cultural Adaptation Classes. Learn to live a more successful life after immigrating to the United States. Topics discussed in the class will include: communication, working with the local court system, how to use public transportation, medical assistance resources, and many more! The class is every Thursday from 7:00-9:00 PM.
  • Computer Class. Learn basic computer skills such as resume building, using microsoft word, email access information, and more. Meets Tuesdays at 7:00pm. The class is for adults, if you bring your kids please make sure that they are being respectful.

Arts & Crafts

  • Art Class. Paint, create, design, and learn new art techniques. Families are welcome. Meets every Friday at 4:00pm. Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Craft Group. Community members come together to work on various Pinterest type projects and crafts. Meets every Friday at 2:00pm. This class is for adults, if you bring your child you must make sure that they behave and don't disturb the class.

Seasonal

  • Camp NEON. Local kids gather for outdoor games, science actvities, cooking/nutrition classes, and health education. Meets Monday-Thursday from 12:00pm-2:00pm. First session is in June and the second session is in July. Due to demand only one session per child is allowed. 2nd-8th grade.
  • Summer Learning Program. Academically based summer program focused on literacy. Meets Monday-Thursday from 8:30am-12:00pm. First session is in June and the second session is in July. Due to demand only one session per child is allowed. 2nd-8th grade.
  • Community Garden. Community members come together to plant and take care of a garden. Supplies and volunteers are generously supplied by the Provo Rotary Club. One time event to help plant. Members of the community are encouraged to stop by during the summer and care for the garden as well as take anything they would like.
  • VITA. File your taxes for free during Tax Season. Call 211 for scheduling an appointment or 1-888-826-9790. Only offered during tax season.
